What is a Starter Pack?
A Starter Pack is a collection of options from books at an entry-level price point. The pack may contain options from a single book, or multiple, as listed on the product detail page. They also provide purchasers with the ability to buy an associated book at a discounted price. For example, the Class Starter Packs provide a $5 discount towards the digital version of Player’s Handbook (5.5e), whereas the Eberron Species Starter Pack provides a $5 discount towards the digital version of Eberron: Forge of the Artificer.
Do Class and Species Starter Packs include spells?
Yes, if a subclass or species includes a spell that is not in the D&D Beyond Basic Rules, it is included in the pack.
How do I see my Starter Pack content?
Purchasing a Starter Pack provides access to specific character options and content within the D&D Beyond Character Builder; however, it does not grant access to a sourcebook in your D&D Beyond library.
Each Marketplace entry informs you what is in each Starter Pack, but to see those options in D&D Beyond itself, just create a character that would include those options, and you should be able to select those options in the relevant steps of character creation. Also, the digital dice will be visible on your My Dice page.
If I purchase one or more Starter Packs that discount a particular product, does the discount stack?
No. For example, you still will only receive $5 off the digital version of the Player’s Handbook (5.5e), if you purchase both the Barbarian Class Starter Pack and the Wizard Class Starter Pack.
Does the discount apply towards bundles that include the associated book?
Yes. As long as the digital version of the discounted book is in your cart, you will receive a $5 discount if you have purchased the associated Starter Pack.
