What is a Starter Pack?
A Starter Pack is a collection of options from books at an entry-level price point. The pack may contain options from a single book, or multiple, as listed on the product detail page. They also provide purchasers with the ability to buy an associated book at a discounted price. For example, the Class Starter Packs provide a $5 discount towards the digital version of Player’s Handbook (5.5e), whereas the Eberron Species Starter Pack provides a $5 discount towards the digital version of Eberron: Forge of the Artificer.
Do Class and Species Starter Packs include spells?
Yes, if a subclass or species includes a spell that is not in the D&D Beyond Basic Rules, it is included in the pack.
If I purchase one or more Starter Packs that discount a particular product, does the discount stack?
No. For example, you still will only receive $5 off the digital version of the Player’s Handbook (5.5e), if you purchase both the Barbarian Class Starter Pack and the Wizard Class Starter Pack.
Does the discount apply towards bundles that include the associated book?
Yes. As long as the digital version of the discounted book is in your cart, you will receive a $5 discount if you have purchased the associated Starter Pack.
