I'm experiencing crashes while trying to run Project Sigil. What should I do?
If you're experiencing crashes while trying to start the client, here are some recommended steps you can take to help resolve the issue:
- Check to see if your computer meets the system requirements listed under the question “What do I need to play Project Sigil?”
- Updating your video drivers and operating system to the latest version could resolve compatibility issues. Older drivers or updates may have compatibility issues that could be causing the client to crash.
- If you continue to experience issues, please try disabling other programs running in the background and attempt to run Sigil by itself.
We hope those steps will resolve your issue
I am having problems installing or updating Project Sigil from the launcher.
Let us know what problems you’re experiencing at https://dndbeyond-support.wizards.com/hc/en-us/requests/new/ so we can get you up and running as quickly as possible! Please select 'Project Sigil Help' from the dropdown in order to send us a ticket. That way we can get a description of your error as well as logs that we need in order to help diagnose the issue. To find your logs:
- Open "File Explorer" on your computer. Windows 11 users can find the icon, which resembles a folder, at the bottom of your screen.
- On the left-hand panel of the File Explorer window, scroll down to find your "C:" drive. Select it to view the contents of the drive.
- Open the "Users" directory, then the directory with your username.
- Click the address bar near the top of the File Explorer window and add "\AppData" to the path shown. Then press "Enter". The path should then look something like "c:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData".
- Open the "Local" directory, then find and open the "DnDLauncher" directory.
- All the files in this directory that have names beginning with "DnDLauncher" are log files from the launcher. Each file’s name ends with the date the log was written. For example, DnDLauncher-20250117.log is a launcher log written on January 17th, 2025. Please include all log files created on the date(s) the problem occurred when reaching out to us for help.
